Mini Grant Guidelines

The IWGA Mini-Grant Program

The IWGA has a long history of supporting women’s golf programs in the state of Illinois and has traditionally distributed annual grants to the state universities’ women’s golf programs. In response to requests to broaden our support, the program was changed to a Mini-Grant program back in 2016. Grants ranging from $500 to $2000 will be made available to support women’s golf programs through a competitive application process.

Grant requests will be considered for support for a specific project or purchase or for general funding exclusive of travel expenses and salaries. Administrators of women’s golf programs are encouraged to apply for assistance by following the guidelines below.

Application Deadline
IWGA Board has authorized a competitive application process for its Mini‐Grant Program for the current year. All applications must be received by the IWGA Board before 5 p.m. May 1, 2022.
Applicants will be notified in late October of the status of their application. A check will be mailed to the College addressed to your Athletic Director no later than December 1st.

Eligibility
Any Illinois public or private higher education institution (2 or 4 year colleges) may submit applications for consideration. The appropriate Administrator must authorize all applications before submitting to the IWGA Board. A project submitted without both the Athletic Director and your signature on the application will not be considered.

Funding Priority
Preference will be given to projects and equipment requests that directly impact your golf team and golf program. Needs, measurable outcomes, and likelihood of success are important factors in the evaluation. Please feel free to contact the IWGA Mini Grant Chair for guidance.

Areas Not Funded
The IWGA Mini‐Grant Program does not fund travel expenses, political/lobbying activities, food/refreshments, or
coaches’ salaries. If you are uncertain about your project’s eligibility, please inquire prior to seeking approvals.

Recipient Response
If you received a 2021 Grant you must complete the review process, or it will affect your ranking and you may NOT be eligible to receive a 2022 Grant. This review summarizes what was purchased, a photo of the project, if applicable, and explain the effectiveness of this grant on your golf program. Please submit your narratives by September 1st, 2022, using the online form provided.
