Coronavirus Update

A message from the IWGA Board…

First of all, we hope that everyone is staying safe and doing well!

As golfers, we all understand the desire to be out honing our skills (OK, or just having fun…) on the golf course, enjoying good company and perhaps some good competition.

For now, we must put much of that on hold as we protect ourselves and others from potential transmission of the coronavirus.

It is too soon to know what impact this will have on our 2020 State Championships and we hope to be able to proceed with our established schedule.

However, our primary focus is the safety of all players.  To that end, we will follow guidelines from the CDC, State and Federal Agencies and input from the USGA, other golf associations and of course, our Host Clubs.

We will make final decisions on each championship as their dates approach.  We have been accepting entries, and they will remain open until a decision is reached.  In the event that a championship has to be cancelled full refunds will be issued.

Just a reminder that our entries are not based on the date we receive your entry, but rather on your handicap at the entry deadline, so you can take your time about deciding to sign-up.  The entry deadlines are as follows:

State Amateur (Pine Meadow) June 23-25:  Entry deadline-June 16

State Junior (Hickory Point) August 4-5:  Entry deadline-July 27
State Senior (Soangetaha) September 15-17:  Entry deadline-August 15

We’ll do our best to keep everyone informed as summer approaches.

Stay safe everyone!
