IWGA State Junior Tournament
38th Illinois Junior Girls’ Amateur Championship
Dates: August 1-2, 2017
Location: University of Illinois Orange Course Savoy, IL
Format: The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke play with flights being determined by the first round scores. The event focuses on providing a friendly and competitive atmosphere.
Eligibility: The event is open to girls who are residents of Illinois, have a handicap of 28 or less or a scoring average or 100 or less, and have not yet reached their 19th birthday or begun college.
Entry Fee: $100
Entry Deadline: July 19, 2017 or until the qualifying field of 84 players is full.

Players and spectators were treated to a spectacular finish in the 2016 Illinois State Junior Girls’ Championship!
Brianne Bolden of Mokena (74-74-148) and Reena Sulkar of Barrington Hills (77-71-148) were tied after 36 holes of play. Brianne won the sudden death playoff with an eagle on the 427-yard par-5 first hole, hitting her second shot within 8 feet of the hole.
Close behind was Arushi Singh of Naperville with a two-day total of 149. Nicole Ciskowski of Barrington, Caroline Smith of Inverness, and Louise McCulloch of Wilmette shared 4th place with scores of 150.
The IWGA also announced today the recipient of the 2016 Julia H. Dodds award. Louise McCulloch of Wilmette received the honor given to an outstanding high school senior who exhibits leadership, scholarship, sportsmanship, and character. Louise is headed to Northwestern University next year.
