Salley Wessels of Mt. Morris Captures 8th Senior Amateur Championship

 

 

Salley Wessels fired a third-round 83 to capture the Illinois Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Mattoon Golf and Country Club at Mattoon today.

Wessels led the field by three strokes at the beginning of today’s final round and held on to the lead to claim the title on a rain soaked course. The 40th annual women’s tournament featured a full field of 120 players.
