Our Mission: Founded in 1933, the IWGA is an all-volunteer organization devoted to advancing golf opportunities for the women and girls of Illinois by conducting state championship tournaments and through fundraising to support charitable contributions to individuals and organizations that embody the spirit of amateur golf.

2009 Hall of Fame Inductee: Evelyn Davis - Evelyn Davis For 50 years of service on the IWGA board including service as an officer and rules chairman as well as her promotion of girl’s and women’s amateur golf in her community and the state of Illinois.
2008 Hall of Fame Inductees: Shirley Dommers and Lois Drafke
Shirley Dommers’ contributions to golf include active service on the IWGA board for 24 years – including service as president and now Director Emeritus. She was on the Women’s Western Golf Association board for 6 years. shirley coached girl’s golf at Belvidere Highs School before Title IX.
Lois Drafke grew up on Acacia Country Club, the only child of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Drafke, who was the club superintendent there. She took to golf early, swinging an iron with youthful gusto and came to the attention of the club pro, who noticed her keen interest in the game and gave her some basic instruction.

IWGA Board
The IWGA Board of Directors is composed of up to 25 active members in addition to the honarary and emeritus categories. Coming from all areas of the state, these volunteers give their time and pay their own expenses so that the opportunity to play in statewide competition is available to all women who enjoy the game.
